Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s read is quite a different book for me, from a Turkish writer. Unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to finish this book before I leave for Europe and have to return it to the library – but I’ll be putting a reserve on it to get it back and finish on my return…
The Forty Rules of Love – Elif Shafak
“Amid this chaos I stood in a place of unperturbed silence and serenity, utterly indifferent to the world and yet at the same time feeling a burning love for all the people struggling and suffering in it.”
“In every place I visited, I overheard the townspeople talk about Rumi.” pg 110.
And the second post is some music to listen to while reading… London Grammar are a band that are making me sit up and listen. I particularly love the clear and distinct vocals of Hannah Reid, but the music has just a gorgeous full sound to it.
